What are you waiting for is the second single off third album Last Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy.

Description of the track in Eksteen's own words:


As with most riffs, I discovered this one when I was fiddling around on the guitar. It is not something I would normally play and in that sense it immediately grabbed my attention. I’m a sucker for a certain note being played over more than one chord. This creates different tensions and personalities for that note as you move through the chord progression.

In studio Wayne came to the party by laying down a foot stomping club beat and all the energy stems from that.

The lyrics are possibly the most personal on the whole album. It deals with a relationship and the insecurities and anti-trust issues that has to be dealt with. I guess the line “What are you waiting for?” could be seen as some sort of ultimatum. I don’t like lyrics to be too obvious and want people who listen to it to think a bit about it or wonder what was actually meant. I also love to play with words or phrases that have a double meaning.
