All you want 03:05
When all is said and done you’ll know it wasn’t me in the eye of the storm you won’t last you’ll see in the course of your life you’ll wonder about what went wrong in the course of your life it’s all there to be won and they’ll say we’re the fools we’re the enemy and I’ll sit by your side coz all they want to do is drag us into view In the course of your life they’ll tell you many lies in the course of your life you’ll hear many goodbyes and they’ll tighten the chain around your neck I know it’s not right But all they want to prove Is that everything’s the truth A mere passer by in her sea of hysteria where mountains collide I’ll patiently wait for her I fell into her arms recognized the hurt a tell tale sign - yeah and they’ll tighten the chain around your neck I know it’s not right But all they want to see Is us never being free
2.
What are you waiting for? Settle down and take a deep breath tell me what it is that unnerves you from the east, move your eyes to the west it’s waiting there, it’s nothing new All I wanna say is please just let it be you left it again open for all to see Oh I will try to recover what you let out please, let’s get away from this round about Remember the noise, recall the confusion when nothing made sense and was kind of dense more than our home you painted an illusion a place to live from, to sit on the fence Calm down, you’re still not on your own back down, now’s my time I kept waiting for you on the phone but you were on the other line I opened your letters Let it all out in the open Riding high but with nowhere to go Your words were left unspoken so where to now? where do we go from here? what are you waiting for?
3.
when you stroll down the street I light up like a cigarette you look me over then take me in tell me that he’s just not it you burn you break you roll and shake you lose all self control dare to hate you’re always in a state you move like a rag doll no matter what I say or do I never stopped believing in you all’s not lost when you date Kate Moss most times I wait for you you come and go but when I’m not here you sell your guns and your worn through shoes Is there anything you don’t fear? no matter what you say or do I never stopped believing in you all’s well when you ring my bell You say you don’t care coz you like it you say you don’t know where coz you like it no matter what I say or do I never stopped believing in you For lack of words you’ve made it worse
4.
Run Away 03:27
when your hands turn to clay I know it won’t be long before you pull away and leave to be gone Your words are winding through the mists I reclaimed where old replaces new alleviates the pain Run away x2 When the sun turns to stone and the night creeps in it tightens around your bones and eats through your skin burn a trail turn back from where you came shout into her gale turn up the gain Run away x4 The cracks in your armour expanded the lights on your highways faded yet wave after wave couldn’t break it Coz they would not delay any longer the debt you had to pay get stronger and stay or run away
5.
Out of breath out of sight we pushed upwards Willed life back into our leaden legs Your foot prints mocked my stumblin’ mind Light beams pierced through the stormy night Some said we’d fail and be left behind Yeah – I sense we weren’t meant to fall in line We’ve got to move faster than this push on before we halt to rest you fell without your safety line hurtled through space without arrest Yeah I sense we weren’t meant to climb For a moment nothing seemed to be going in, my lungs were empty Back over that crest I crawled watch out as time slows down Yeah – we’ve got to move faster than this
6.
Heartland 02:55
In the heartland of your America there’s a world on your shoulders there’s a hold on your mind In the heartland of your pale blue sea there’s a place I keep breathing a truth I can believe in So I waited for your other halve to show up next to us tumblin’ down through a cloud your eyes betrayed your fear anyone can walk around and say what they mean to say because we all allowed this to happen In the heartland of your America there’s a call on your heartache for the price of your fate In your heartland I’ve been waiting for you to lead me through blindness to grant me one last kiss The way you are I can see it now we’ve waited for too long I had it’s eye, stay with me, we’ll walk one last time how we know is we can live or die to tell the tale or slide away In the heartland of your America They’ll run you over They’ll burn you cold In the heartland of your soul There’s a fly on your window There’s dirt in your snow
7.
K2 03:02
I wanna see the damage done the sky that was lost and won into thin air you chased the sun jettison this itch I feel amputate my wings before they heal this reassessment reassures me you’re quite real Share some of your acid temper assist me in when I’m in danger / lucid water I’m falling a favour will be in order a recent reaction will prompt her to prolong this promise of a distant border what keeps us together will tear us apart some will conquer and leave their mark I’ll lie here waiting for you in the dark Climb just a little more into my heart

Instrumental track .
9.
She let me into The secrets of her mind Assured me it was safe yeah To win over her heart Nothing’s really certain Especially the part Where love gave way to treason like sugar to a tart up high the wind cried but how was I to know that her bitterness would end it there and lay it all bare I’ll turn towards the east to go where no one dared Let me go! Strangely deceptive She played her charms on me Swaying like a cobra She didn’t have much to do nothing really mattered especially the tale of the man who climbed her mountain to only die in vain
10.
Come & Go 03:29
Over the hills and far away is where the world supposedly ends you know it’s kind of a hard day’s night to cover the rent I sweat and strive with the cut of my knife give it all to those who don’t care Then at night when I get back home to you the sparkle seems to re-appear so run run run as fast as you can run as fast as you possibly can head for a place where they’ll find no trace of us as we disappear Say goodbye What are you waiting for? Then where shall we go when all we have to do is think About what came before salvation’s on the brink may they always chase our shadows and be late by a week better pack up and leave yeah we come and go I’ll coax you away with a decoy To the far deep south of Detroit I’ll call in sick say I’m alive Yeah say that I won’t be in So I’ll find myself a dream to grow To grow like a mushroom cloud As it rises into the stratosphere You know it won’t rain
11.
Down at the road where your dreams ended where fact replaced myth they all stood still, dressed to kill to await your return And now they say you’ll climb down a flight of stairs to hell little do they know that you’ll be waiting for them feeling well I see you x3 I can see from where you came Wind swept rain lashed I waited to thaw a woman tried to make me warm to be all alone in this forsaken world is like being left out in the cold they say you gotta move you gotta keep with the times and know when to make your stand don’t let it all ride on the throw of a dice or you’ll be the one treading sand And when it ends it ends here my friend and when it ends it ends right here my dear

about

Twice SAMA nominated artist The Sick-Leaves independently release highly anticipated third album Last Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy on 8th March 2010.

Renowned Grammy Award winning producer, Darryl Torr produced this album from The Sick-Leaves that was recorded in November 2009 at SABC’s M5 studio.

The album follows from the critically acclaimed SAMA nominated first & second albums Tunnel Vision & Stone the Crow (2007 & 2009 respectively), with Stone the Crow also having been released independently.
Bruce Dennill, editor of CitiVibe has said of the album: “The Sick-Leaves continue to build one of South Africa's most intriguing musical brands with shorter, sharper, more accessible songs - including the blistering "Coz You Like It" - on new album "Last Dance Of The Sugar Plum Fairy".

Last Dance of The Sugar Plum Fairy consists of eleven original songs as composed by singer/songwriter/guitarist Eksteen Jacobsz, with all instrumentation except for drums, tracked by him.

These songs are punchy and catchy featuring epic guitar solos and new themes with a total album length being twenty minutes less than that of Tunnel Vision or Stone the Crow.
The album is guitar driven rock, yet its sound differs quite considerably from that of the first two albums due to the influence of producer, Darryl Torr, the experience gained since the release of Stone the Crow in 2008 and a new direction in song writing.
The album has already been well received in the media following the media launch held on Wednesday 24th February in association with Jose Cuervo at Narina Trogon, Johannesburg.

Photographer Sean Brand designed all the album artwork using infrared photographs taken in Namibia to fit with the concept of the album.

Recent accolades for The Sick-Leaves include a 2010 MK Award nomination for the animated music video ‘All These Foolish Things (I’ve said)’ and a (Live)5 performance on national radio station 5FM’s live performance show at the end of January.

The first single ‘Coz you like it’ is currently on rotation on regional & campus radio stations
countrywide with previous singles off Tunnel Vision and Stone the Crow having reached the number one position on a number of SA campus charts. ‘Such a Waster’ & ‘All These Foolish Things (I’ve said)’ were play listed on 5FM.
