This one is far and away the oldest song on the record. It was one of the first songs I wrote when The Sick-Leaves started, even before Tunnel Vision was released. Every album I would put it forward and then we would end up either not having space for it or it not fitting in with the rest of the album.

For Last Dance… I decided to give it one more crack. Again it was a case of taking unnecessary clutter out. I tweaked a few of the dated lyrics and it was basically there. A big backing vocal hook was added in the chorus which really pushed it into epic territory.

It needed a ballsy guitar sound and therefore the Les Paul was used exclusively to record it. The breakdown riff is a definite highlight for me, showing how I’ve developed as a songwriter and guitar player since Tunnel Vision.

Lyrically this is definitely in fantasy territory. The boundaries between what is real and what is imagined is very vague.
